NEW Parent Volunteer information
We are pleased to announce the changes for backstage volunteers for this year’s recital and future shows. We are very excited that our shows are at a new venue, but because of the changes in the way that the backstage area is formatted we are accepting fewer parent volunteers for backstage. This change is also due to the behaviors of many parent volunteers last year who did not respect the directions or rules given by backstage staff members.
Here is how signing up to volunteer will work:
1. Use the QR code that will be posted in the HRDC lobby to access the google form
2. Answer each question carefully- if you don’t, the information will be wrong and you will not be selected as a volunteer for your child’s class.
3. Watch your email for the volunteer email to be sent out to the selected people.
Each class will have 1-2 parents volunteers with it the entire time backstage. There will be room for 1-2 alternate volunteers to get on the waitlist, just in case there are volunteers that change their plans.
Parents of PC dancers will not need to fill out the google form to volunteer backstage, there will be a select group of PC parents who will be invited to volunteer backstage.
If you are not one of the backstage volunteers, we would love to have you spend your time being an usher during our shows! Ushers will be assigned to the audience to help guests find their seats, make sure no one stands/leaves while dances are on stage, and generally monitor behaviors to maintain a quiet and respectful audience. Ushers will need to be able to climb stairs. Ushers will not need a ticket to the show they are volunteering at. Please sign up at the front desk if you would like to be an usher!
